The Menorca Brass Master Class Modality is focused on the high grade students or people already working on his speciality, this course has international musicians as teachers.
It’s all about brass instruments; trumpet, horn and trombone specifically, each instrument has its each teacher.
It’s something unique in the Balearic Islands and in whole Spain, and it’s also a great chance to get direct contact and absorb the knowledge of the best musicians of the moment.

The Menorca Brass Master Class modality will start on Saturday July 10th and it will finish on Tuesday July 13th in the Music and Dance School facilities in es Mercadal.
Menorca Brass Master Class Teachers
The Menorca Brass Master Class has one teacher for each instrument (trumpet, horn and trombone). Each teacher is focused and specialized in his own instrument.
Uwe Köller – Trumpet Masterclass
BIRTHDATE AND PLACE: 1964, Neuss.
He began his successful trumpet career in 1978 when he first became a student of Rodney Miller in Düsseldorf and later of Pierre Thibauld in Paris (until 1985).
He then went on to Martin Kretzer (1986-1988) as a fellow of the “Herbert von Karajan Foundation”. After these extraordinarily inspiring academic years, he began his career as a solo trumpeter with the Berlin Symphony Orchestra and has been a solo trumpeter with the Deutsche Oper Berlin since 1991.
Since 1997, Uwe Köller has been teaching as a professor at the University of Performing Arts and Music in Graz, where he has been a full-time trumpet professor since September 2000. The enthusiastic teacher of his field has been on tour with GERMAN BRASS as a permanent member since 1995.
Rodolfo Epelde Cruz – Horn Masterclass
BIRTHPLACE: Eibar (Euskadi).
He trained at the Royal Superior Conservatory of Music in Madrid, at the “Hochshule für Musik” in Hamburg and at the “Conservatoire National de Région” in Versailles.
He regularly teaches master classes in higher conservatories, both national and international (Manchester, Rotterdam, Berlin, Oporto, Fiesole, Italian Brass Week), as well as preparing and conducting the wind sections of the most important young orchestras in the country and abroad: Joven National Orchestra of Spain (JONDE), Young Orchestra of Euskal-Herria (EGO), Young Orchestra of Andalusia, Young Orchestra of the Region of Murcia, Young National Orchestra of Catalonia (JONC), and the Youth Orchestra of the Community of Madrid (JORCAM), Young Orquest Tchaikovsky Ekaterinburg (Russia), etc. Its former students hold positions in various national orchestras (RTVE, Galicia, Santiago, Extremadura, Madrid Symphony, Navarra, Córdoba, Bilbao and Euskadi orchestras) and international orchestras (BBC Scottish, Scala de Milan, Innsbruck, Marseille, DSO Berlin, Kiel , Bielefeld, Zurich and Stuttgart).
As a soloist he has performed with the National Orchestra of Spain, the “Ciutat de Barcelona” Orchestra, the Basque Country Orchestra, the “Reina Sofía” Chamber Orchestra, the Madrid Community Orchestra and JONDE. In 2016 he was a member of the jury for the ARD Munich International Horn Competition.
He is currently a horn soloist in the National Orchestra of Spain, a horn teacher at Musikene (Centro Superior de Estudios Musicales del País Vasco) and an adjunct teacher at Radovan Vlatkovic in the horn chair at the “Reina Sofía” School of Music in Madrid
Filipe Alves – Tombone Master Class
BIRTHDATE AND PLACE: 1989, Porto (Portugal).
STUDIES: Lisbon conservatory, Universität der Künste (Berlin).
